Privacy statement
Sofia Sparla processes personal data of visitors to sofiasparla.nl and of participants in the cooking workshops. This statement tells you which data that is, what we use it for and which rights you have.

Which data we process
When you sign up for the newsletter: your email address and, if you fill it in, your first name. Our newsletter system also records the moment of sign-up and your IP address, as proof that you signed up yourself.
When you book a workshop: your name, email address, phone number, billing address and details of your order. Payments run through Mollie; we only receive the confirmation that you paid, no bank account or credit card details.
When you contact us by mail or phone: the details you give us yourself.
What we use it for
- Organising and confirming workshops, and contacting you if something changes.
- Handling payments and keeping our books.
- Sending the newsletter with new workshops and recipes, if you signed up for it.
- Answering questions.
We process your data because it is needed to carry out the agreement (with a booking), because we are legally obliged to (the tax retention duty), or because you gave your permission (the newsletter).
The newsletter
Signing up works with a double confirmation: after you fill in the form you receive a mail with a confirmation link. Only when you click it does your address go on the list. At the bottom of every newsletter there is an unsubscribe link. You can unsubscribe at any time, and your address is then removed from the mailing list. You can also mail info@sofiasparla.nl.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data and we do not pass it on to others for their own purposes. We do work with service providers that process data for us:
- Infomaniak (Switzerland) — hosting of the website, email and the newsletter system.
- Mollie (the Netherlands) — handling of payments.
- Our bookkeeper and the tax authorities, as far as we are legally obliged to.
How long we keep data
- Data around bookings and payments: seven years, because of the tax retention duty.
- Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe.
- Mail contact without a booking: two years at most.
Cookies and statistics
The website places functional cookies that are needed to make the site and the shop work, for example to remember your basket. At the moment we do not use tracking cookies for advertising. If we start keeping visitor statistics, we will update this statement and ask permission beforehand where that is required.
Your rights
You may ask us which data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and withdraw your permission at any time. Send a mail to info@sofiasparla.nl; we answer within four weeks. If we cannot sort it out together, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
